About Anastasia
Founder of Anastasia Fox Consultancy — helping people across the UK understand and act on their rights.
Anastasia Fox is the founder of Anastasia Fox Consultancy, helping people across the UK understand and act on their rights — from benefits and housing to employment law, immigration, and debt advice.
Her approach is built on lived experience. Before moving to the UK, Anastasia was active professionally in Latvia during its independence years following the Russian occupation, working as one of the developers of the ViaBaltica catalogue project. She also delivered lectures across all the Baltic states for the education sector authority, focused on art techniques and materials for children's development — work she continued right up until her move to the UK in 2005, one year after Latvia joined the EU.
She then spent the next twelve years working her way up through the UK hospitality industry — starting as a hotel cleaner, later becoming a restaurant front-of-house manager, and eventually head chef at a local pub. It meant long hours, often juggling two or three jobs at once. That firsthand experience of building a life and a career from the ground up in the UK — including the years when EU immigration status was straightforward, and the later years when the rules changed dramatically — gives her a rare, grounded understanding of what clients are going through.
Anastasia is a long-standing volunteer with Citizens Advice, where she has supported individuals through some of their most stressful moments — benefit appeals, housing disputes, debt problems, and employment issues. Since 2018, she has been recognised as a community leader with several organisations across the UK, and is well known across the UK's Latvian community as a trusted adviser and supporter — having personally helped more than 3,500 community members. Her work has since grown to support Ukrainian refugees and other Eastern European communities, as well as Asian and multicultural communities across the UK — and, more recently, she has slowly become a mentor to small business owners. Since 2023, she has also been actively involved with the3million, the UK's leading organisation advocating for EU citizens' rights, where her work has included direct engagement with government representatives on EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) policy. In July 2024, Anastasia co-chaired the3million's EU Citizens' Summit for Change in London, an event that brought together over 200 EU citizens from across the country and secured public policy commitments from cross-party MPs, the EU Ambassador to the UK, and the Cabinet Office Minister for European Union Relations.
In 2014, Anastasia faced severe health challenges that left her disabled and bedbound, unable to walk, for eighteen months. Following surgery in 2016, she rebuilt her life from the ground up — and channelled that experience into a new purpose, moving from hospitality into work supporting EU citizens in the UK. That period of having to fight her own way back, navigating systems and support networks from a position of real vulnerability, is central to how she understands what her clients are facing.
More recently, Anastasia faced a cancer diagnosis. She went through oncology treatment and is now in recovery and remission. The experience reshaped her approach to work — today she focuses on working smarter, not harder, bringing that same clarity and efficiency to how she supports her clients.
Before all of this, Anastasia competed at the highest level of sport, representing her country in gymnastics at the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games. The discipline and resilience she built as an athlete — and drew on again during her recovery — still inform how she guides clients through complex, high-stakes situations today.
